Welcome to Model Railway Realism

Manual Steam (Baseboard  Version)with Whistle

One of our most popular products and an ideal starter to add sound to your loco setup.

This is a simple self-contained sound unit that has two controls mounted at right angles allowing  easy fitting to a baseboard control panel

We supply no instructions with these as there’s only two controls and a push switch for the whistle plus an off/on switch complete with screws for mounting.

The Controls work as follows. Both turned fully counterclockwise and just quiet stationary steam can be heard. Increasing the volume control slightly and the unit starts to chuff , adjusting the other control increases the speed of the chuff thus by a combination of both you can get from just a hiss to full speed .

This unit has an electronic tone whistle which is a reasonable copy of a whistle. However for a more realistic whistle or one to match your loco click here

This unit is quite loud and by careful fitting of the speaker will give enough sound for a small to medium 00 layout or a big n gauge.
